Active since 2017, Sónar Istanbul has become the longest-running international edition of Sónar. Sónar Istanbul 2026 will mark the first time that an edition of Sónar (except Barcelona) has celebrated 10 editions in the same city, and the first edition outside of Barcelona to celebrate 10 continuous editions: from 2017 to 2026.

To celebrate, we invited Marcel Dettmann, a longtime friend of the festival who played live at Sónar Istanbul just last year, to play a set on the roof of Zorlu PSM. We’ve recorded the result, with the German DJ playing to the backdrop of spectacular views over the Bosphorus, the historical border between Asia and Europe.

This is a less forceful than usual set from Marcel Dettmann, but still mixed and selected with his trademark precision. He’ll appear in June as part of Sónar 2026, going back-to-back with Gerd Janson for a set that moves closer to hedonistic house. You can also catch Gerd Janson solo at Sónar Istanbul this April.
