Sara Persico and Mika Oki’s audiovisual collaboration Sphaîra reflects the haunting acoustics of a concrete theatre in Tripoli, Lebanon, designed by Oscar Niemeyer. The structure, once a symbol of social integration, now bears scars from Lebanon's civil war, with echoes of its violent past still resonating in its acoustics.

Sphaîra is an immersive sensory experience that recreates the energy of Niemeyer’s dome. Through evolving fractal imagery and sound storytelling, the performance blurs the lines between external stimuli and internal perception. The audience, lying comfortably on the floor, is invited into deep contemplation, with slow visual transformations promoting a meditative state.
