Composer and musician Laurel Halo joins forces with visual artist Julian Charrière for Midnight Zone, a live audiovisual performance that merges sonic experimentation, cinematic vision, and environmental reflection.
The work follows the trajectory of a drifting lighthouse lens descending into the ocean's depths, momentarily illuminating fragile ecosystems and hidden life forms within the abyss. Halo’s electro-acoustic score mirrors this descent through piano, strings, and processed textures that oscillate between haunting tension and weightless suspension.
Performed live to picture, Midnight Zone unfolds as a slow, immersive odyssey where sound and image evolve in perfect synchronicity. At Sónar Istanbul, Laurel Halo & Julian Charrière invite the audience into a state of deep listening and visual immersion, where moving images and music merge into a profound shared environment.
