For more than two decades, Eric Prydz has occupied a rare position in electronic music, one where meticulous production, emotional depth and technical ambition coexist. As a producer and DJ, his work moves effortlessly between intimacy and scale, appealing equally to underground listeners and vast main-stage crowds.
Across his different identities, Prydz explores distinct emotional and sonic territories. Under his own name and through Pryda, he has shaped a melodic, layered sound defined by slow-building tension and rich harmonic detail. This approach has become so influential that the so-called “Pryda sound” now feels like a language of its own, echoed across contemporary electronic music.
In contrast, Cirez D strips everything back. Dark, raw and functional, this project is designed for long nights, warehouse spaces and deep focus, offering Prydz the freedom to work without expectation or compromise. Moving between these worlds is central to his practice, allowing him to constantly recalibrate intensity, scale and purpose.
Alongside his studio output, Prydz is known for pushing the limits of live electronic performance, developing large-scale audiovisual shows that merge precision with immersion. At Sónar Istanbul, he brings this multifaceted vision into a shared space, where craft, control and collective energy meet on the dancefloor.
